Start Hike towards Auyan Tepuy, where we will cross rivers bordered by a vast forest of Palma de Moriche. A steep hike will come in order to get to the first plateau, where our camp Guayaraca waits. (B,L,D)
4
Continue hike entering the dense forest of the base of the Tepui, hiking uphill to the second plateau, until arrival to El Danto, a rock conglomerate ideal for lunch and rest. Afterwards, cross high underbrush vegetation until we arrive at El Peñon, a gigantic rock where we will spend the night in tents under the overhanging rock. (B,L,D)

Today we arrive to the summit. The trekking develops walking through rocks and dense vegetation. In 2 hours we make our first contact with the main wall. After a rest, we continue the ascent to the final part sorting huge rocks with the help of ropes. Close to the summit we arrive to a beautiful huge rock monolith surrounded by a garden of orchids, bromeliads and other peculiar unique plants of the Tepuy. After lunch and brief rest we keep walking up to Orange River or El Oso to arm our camp. (B,L,D)
Getting out of the tent is getting stunned by the hugeness of the Tepui. To the North we can see the view of the second wall where Jimmy Angel walked back in 1935. After breakfast we will have all day for explorations over the summit discovering the mysteries of the Tepui. This is a day for walking, making photography and relaxing. (B,L,D)
After saying goodbye to the Tepuy, we take our path back stopping at El Peñon and El Danto, until we arrive to Guayaraca Camp, where the warm climate invites us to a refreshing river bath. (B,L,D)

Auyantepuy is just and amazing experience. It is overwhelm when you get to the top after a long walk and you see the dimensions of the tepuy. The Akanan?s logistics is great, the guide (Arturo) very professional and the porters team (pemones) are excellent. It is a great experience, but not for rookies, because it is needed a good physical condition and the adequate technical equipment
