Conquer the Bolivar Peak, a 5,007m high mountain in the Andean Cordillera. This hike is both spectacular in its beauty and challenging in its ruggedness, although it’s not necessary to be a professional. Following the Humboldt trek, ascend to “La Ventana” and walk through the spine of Sierra Nevada National Park. Then, hike over a Paramo desert of stone and snow, camping every night on the shores of glacial lakes in the Venezuelan Andes until reaching the Bolivar Peak Summit. Afterwards, make your descend back to the city in the highest cable car in the world.

Manuel E. Martin –
Our trip to Bolivar and Humboldt peaks was great, but was customize. We asked Akanan to take us for a non-traditional route, departing from Gavidea instead from La Mucuy, which is the traditional departing point. This was a challenge for Akanan, because the logistics, the path and the distances were more difficult and longer. Even though these challenges and some small problems during the trip, everything was good and the travel was incredible. The guides were very professional and the porters good and interesting guys. It was a great personal experience, but definitely not for inexperience hikers. The trip is long, physical and psychological demanding but it worth it.
