Arrival to Medellin city in where a person of protocol of our company will be waiting for you to transfer to our hotel in a nice area of the city.
Night in Egina Hotel. (-/-/D)
We will take a flight early in the morning to Apartado in Uraba in where 4×4 cars will be waiting for us to go at our first stop in the entrance of Golfo de Uraba per Leon River. Some very interesting birds are possible there, include Yellow-crowned Night-Heron, Grey-capped Cuckoo, a lot of shorebirds, Sungrebe, Sunbiterns and other common but nice birds to start our adventure in this magical place. After lunch and the check in in the hotel, we will transfer to Guineo Spot, in where we will search some very important birds that include the beautiful Tody Motmot, Black Oropendola, Baudo Oropendola, Grey-check Nunlet, Grey-capped Flycatcher, and many more. At the end of the day we will transfer to Carepa municipality to rest in a comfortable hotel.

This day is the ocean day, in where we will take a fat boat to cross the “Golfo de Uraba” to arrive at Bocas del Atrato Location, in where we will search one of the most enigmatic endemic birds of Colombia: Sooty-capped Puffbird and other important birds as Grey-headed Chachalaca, Northren Screeamer, Bare-throated Tiger-Heron, Sapphire-throated Hummingbird, Sapphire-bellied Hummingbird, Cinnamon Woodpecker, Collared Forest-Falcon, Black Antshrike, Choco Syristes and many aquatic birds. In the end of the day we will come back to Carepa to rest.

This day will be another great day in where we change of habitat in Tasido and Bedo Locations, an amazing humid tropical forest with a lot of birds to see and another beautiful natural surprises; some of the important species to see there include: Berlepsch’s Tinamou, Long-tailed Potoo, Black-throated Trogon, Rose-faced Parrot, Bicolored Antbird, Chestnut-backed Antbird, Southern Bentbill, Royal Flycatcher, Mealy Parrot, Pale-legged Hornero, Baudo Guan and many more. Other species can happen this days, the list is more than 200 species in the place.

Early in the morning we will transfer Carepa River in where horses will be waiting for us to go at La Arborada Reserve; this is hard day but with the chance to see some of the most important birds in the location that include the amazing Harpy Eagle (nesting territory), Viridian Dacnis and the very rare Rufous-crowned Gnatpitta; other important birds include Chestnut-winged Chachalaca, Brown-hooded Parrot, Tawny-crowned Greenlet and other. In the end of the day we will come back to Carepa to rest.

In our last day of adventure and birding in Golfo de Uraba we will visit a new location for birding in where our main focus is the very rare and recently report to Colombia Dusky-backed Jacamar; after of the half day we will transfer to the airport to take a flight to Medellin and to finish this great birding tour with a special dinner and some beers!
